Accessible & Inclusive Parks For All

The Zack Heger Foundation has been working towards its mission to update existing parks to make them more inclusive and accessible to people with special needs. Some areas where we can make an impact include:

• Add Ramps & Remove Steps

• Remove Posts Blocking Access to Parks

• Ensure Handicap Parking is Available

• Remove Wood Chips & Include Level Surfaces for Wheelchairs

• Add Wheelchair Accessible Swings

 

 

We presented our ideas to the Dedham Board of Selectman last month with promising support. We will have a follow up with

the Recreation Department to discuss details and design shortly.
